The question of a Noni juice scam is legitimate, but not because of the question if Noni actually works, but because of either quality issues of the juice or the selling practices of many of the companies dealing with Noni juice.

While the selling practices could only partially be seen as a scam, after all if people want to buy it for a high price, then that's there problem, we still think that it will negatively reflect on the Noni juice business and the reputation of this unique natural health supplement.

MLM (Multi-level marketing) strategies have pumped up the price to over $50, because you are not only paying your seller, but also all the people that are in higher levels in that scheme.

Our main problem is though that even though you pay this high price, you are not even getting pure Noni juice, but either some reconstituted one, that has been diluted with water, fruit juice, additives, sugars etc.

And then people say it doesn't work - but think about it if you are only taking a fraction of a medicinal ingredients that is of low quality - why do you expect to see some great effect. It doesn't make sense, right?

Noni for Baby Boomers

The popularity of Noni for Baby Boomers was recently revealed at the recent Supply Side East trade show in Secaucus, New Jersey. Peter Zambetti, manager for dietary supplements for Capsugel's global business development said "Around 50 percent of all dietary supplement products sold in the United States are age-related products for baby boomers," and that Noni rank 7th most popular supplement after calcium, glucosamine, minerals, fish oil, co-enzyme Q10 and probiotics.

Noni sales were over $200 mio in 2006, which is according to Zambetti a increase of $20 mio compared to the year before. Noni which was hardly know 10 years ago has become a major player in the supplement league.

More and more athletes are taking Noni juice. The latest news comes from the world of track & field.

Isa Phillips who was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, is a graduate of Louisiana State University. I found this very interesting article at News-Press.com in connection with that. Ginger Patterson, Ph.D., R.D. actually states something very important that we have been saying for many years. Noni juice will only bring results if it is processed in the way the ancient Hawaiian healers have prepared it. She says:

"However, when a process was developed in 1992 to dry the pulp and then make juice it was found that only the vitamin C, in the amount found in one-half an orange, was retained.

The photochemical content is similar to other fruits.

Health claims were made by the companies marketing the juice in this country that included preventing cancer, lowering blood pressure, and other too good to be true benefits.

In 1998 the FDA cited å Mirands, Inc., a multi-level marketing company in Utah that made Tahitian Noni Juice, for making unsubstantiated claims.
